PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lars Thunstrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bach Schtrappe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thunstrom comes to the cage accompanied by Prodigy - Spitfire. Schtrappe has chosen Phobia by Kreator as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Thunstrom.
A chopping leg kick lands by Schtrappe.
Schtrappe drops his hands momentarily and Thunstrom takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Schtrappe avoids the body shot from Thunstrom.
Schtrappe throws out a counter right but Thunstrom avoids it with no problem.

Thunstrom lands a nice shot that snaps Schtrappe's head back.

Thunstrom seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Schtrappe's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Schtrappe duly obliges.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Thunstrom looks to land a left hand but Schtrappe moved out of range nicely.

Thunstrom feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Thunstrom does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Bach Schtrappe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Schtrappe tries to move into range but Thunstrom moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Thunstrom shoots for a double leg takedown but Schtrappe sprawls well. He's pushed Thunstrom's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lars Thunstrom. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Thunstrom throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Schtrappe's waist but Schtrappe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thunstrom off to one side.
Thunstrom chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Schtrappe can pounce on him.
Thunstrom is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Schtrappe blocks an uppercut.
Schtrappe creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Thunstrom's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Thunstrom drops to his knees and Schtrappe pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Bach Schtrappe really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Fury Nutrition Inc. logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
