Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Cheng Ki Won! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Harold Bee! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ki Won takes the fight into the clinch. Ki Won gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Bee regains guard.
Bee striking off his back but it's not causing Ki Won any problems. Ki Won in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Ki Won is looking to work some ground and pound but Bee has wrist control. Bee has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bee preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Ki Won has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Ki Won throws a big elbow that misses. Ki Won loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ki Won wriggles free and stands up. Ki Won stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Ki Won circles away from the clinch attempt and Ki Won counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Harold Bee has been cut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ki Won gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Bee lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Ki Won has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Cheng Ki Won dominated that round. The cut man is working on Harold Bee's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Ki Won closes the distance and clinches. Ki Won has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Bee after a bit of a struggle. Ki Won gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ki Won with a nice head shot there. Ki Won missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Bee avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Ki Won is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bee can do to turn this around? Ki Won throws an elbow that misses. Bee uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ki Won's guard. Nice move by Bee!
Ki Won is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Bee frees his head nicely. Oh but Ki Won has switched to an armbar! Bee is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Cheng Ki Won! Cheng Ki Won was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
