The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McClane Vii shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Idol defends it nicely.
Idol changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
McClane Vii tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Idol defends well and McClane Vii ends up having to push Idol into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
McClane Vii misses with a takedown attempt
and Idol counters with a nice body shot.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John McClane Vii. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Idol manages to get an easy takedown there - catching McClane Vii on his heels. He'll look to pass McClane Vii's guard now, I'm sure.
Idol is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
