Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daiki Tanimoto!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeNino uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Tanimoto has time to react.
Tanimoto lands a head kick. DeNino smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

DeNino misses with a hook
and Tanimoto counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

and DeNino counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Tanimoto tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A counter left hand to the body from DeNino misses its target.
Daiki Tanimoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
DeNino blocks a head kick by Tanimoto.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Tanimoto has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Tanimoto ducks down and throws a hook to the body but DeNino moves away.
Tanimoto moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Tanimoto throws a head kick but DeNino moves out of range.
Tanimoto fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but DeNino avoids it really well and circles away.
DeNino jabs at Tanimoto's body.

DeNino keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
DeNino was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
DeNino avoids the head kick by Tanimoto.
DeNino looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Tanimoto lands with a kick to the temple. DeNino shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Tanimoto blocks a leg kick.
Tanimoto turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
DeNino jabs Tanimoto right on the nose. Tanimoto blinks but takes it well.
DeNino misses with a wild body shot.
Frank DeNino is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
DeNino connects with a single shot there.

and DeNino counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Tanimoto thinking.
Tanimoto blocks the body kick.
DeNino is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
DeNino ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tanimoto moves away.
Tanimoto is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Tanimoto lands a head kick!
Tanimoto throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A counter left hand to the body from DeNino misses its target.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
DeNino throws a hook but Tanimoto avoids it easily.

and DeNino counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Tanimoto! DeNino is out on his feet! Tanimoto rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - DeNino is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! DeNino is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
