The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Jee.
Jee throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Zandenberg misses with a few strikes there.

Jee closes the distance and clinches.
Zandenberg tries a body shot but Jee blocks it.

Jee gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Zandenberg tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jee just stands there and leans against the cage.
Zandenberg tries for a takedown but Jee manages to get underhooks.
Jee is pressed up against the cage. Zandenberg has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jee down to the mat. Jee avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Zandenberg shoots in looking for a takedown. Jee tries to sprawl out of it but Zandenberg keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Zandenberg is breathing heavily.
Jee darts in trying to clinch
and Zandenberg counters with a nice kick to the body.
Jee tries to clinch up but Zandenberg circles away and keeps his distance.
Jee throws a sloppy head kick and Zandenberg moves out of range easily.

Zandenberg tries to close the distance and clinch but Jee swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Jee ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Zandenberg shoots for a double leg takedown but Jee sprawls well. He's pushed Zandenberg's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Zandenberg counters with a head kick. That will keep Jee thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Jee is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Zandenberg changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jee tries to avoid it but Zandenberg manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jee to the ground. Jee escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jee postures up.

Zandenberg has his foot on Jee's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jee works his way back into a safe position though.

Jee drops back looking for a leg! Zandenberg is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Zandenberg manages to kick Jee off! Jee jumps back into Zandenberg's guard.
Jee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zandenberg. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
