Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Walter White! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Michel Roux Jr! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roux Jr shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in White's guard. White tries to land a sweep but no joy. White keeping moving, preventing Roux Jr from controlling successfully. Roux Jr passes into half guard. White wants to get back to his feet. Roux Jr thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. White pushes Roux Jr off looking to stand but Roux Jr dives back in and keeps control.
White is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Roux Jr's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Roux Jr's back! White has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. White is throwing strikes but Roux Jr counters by rolling into a better position. After a scramble, Roux Jr regains half guard. White throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roux Jr wants to improve his position but White is controlling well.
White missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Roux Jr keeps control of the position for the meantime. White is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. White is trying to work for a kimura but Roux Jr is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. White looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Roux Jr is controlling White's trapped leg to prevent White from advancing to side control. White missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roux Jr is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Roux Jr looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. White wants to work for an arm triangle but Roux Jr is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
White is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Roux Jr has managed to free his arm - good work. Roux Jr is looking to improve his position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Roux Jr shoots in for a takedown but White shows good takedown defense. Roux Jr dodges the punch combination from White.
White fails with the takedown. Roux Jr drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. White struggling a bit here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Roux Jr landing a few strikes. White takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Roux Jr lands some shots froms side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

White fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Roux Jr, pushing him back against the cage. Roux Jr is trying to work for a single leg takedown but White pulls him back up using the underhooks. White turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and White manages to end up in side control. Roux Jr sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Roux Jr is concentrating on defense, preventing White from advancing position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roux Jr is trying to get back to full guard. Roux Jr tries to roll over but White keeps him under control. Roux Jr blocking the ground and pound attempt from White. White lands with a punch from half guard. Roux Jr is not content to let White control the position. White throwing shots but Roux Jr is blocking nicely. White is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The fighters are battling for position here. Roux Jr manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. White tries to free his leg and advance position but Roux Jr is retaining full guard. Roux Jr seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. White wants to control from the top but Roux Jr keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. We've been told by White's head coaches at Montreal Fighter's Gym (4.5* Sparring) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Roux Jr dives in for a single leg takedown but White sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Walter White has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. White went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Roux Jr shoots in but no luck this time. Roux Jr avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round. White throws a head kick that misses. Roux Jr moves out of range of the body kick. Roux Jr fails with the takedown. White forces Roux Jr back against the cage and clinches. White tries for a takedown but Roux Jr manages to get underhooks.
White escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Oooooh!!! White has knocked Roux Jr down with a huge combo! White steps away and waves a wobbly Roux Jr back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Roux Jr is rocked! White lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Roux Jr falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
