The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malia misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Crane counters with a single leg into guard. Malia didn't expect that.
Crane throws a big right hand that misses.
Crane working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Crane has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Crane trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Malia wants to sweep here but Crane controlling him for the moment.
Crane wants to control from the top but Malia keeps moving.
Crane is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Malia is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Crane shoots in and drives through. Malia sprawls well.
Crane takes a swing at Malia's ribcage but misses.
Crane cracks Malia with an open hand slap.
Crane bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Malia thuds a left hand into Crane's body.
Malia scores with a shot to the body.
A big left from Malia misses.
Malia throws a jab but it's blocked by Crane.
Malia throws the left hand but Crane avoids the punch easily.
Malia throws a lazy right hand but Crane sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Crane bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Crane.

Crane walks into a jab.
Crane scores with a jab to the body.
Crane fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Malia to the ground. Crane is now in Malia's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Malia tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Crane wants to control from the top but Malia keeps moving.
Crane distracts Malia with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Crane works over Malia with some ground and pound from guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Malia is adopting a defensive guard.
Malia looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Crane puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Crane throwing shots but Malia is blocking nicely.

Crane slips a nice elbow through Malia's hands, connecting with Malia's forehead.
Crane scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Crane moves into full mount! Malia won't be happy about that!
Oooooh, big shot lands for Crane! Malia is hurt baaadly! Crane is firing away with more strikes - Malia is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
