Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Eugene Axe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruban Kozlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ruban Kozlov! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Valeri Chadov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kozlov manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Axe on his heels. He'll look to pass Axe's guard now, I'm sure. Axe is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kozlov is controlling him. Kozlov looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Kozlov prevents Axe from getting back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kozlov showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Kozlov content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Kozlov makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Kozlov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kozlov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Axe has momentary wrist control but Kozlov slips an elbow through the middle. Axe wants to stand and escape but Kozlov is having none of it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Axe throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Axe works Kozlov's body with a nice hook. Axe steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kozlov. Ruban Kozlov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Axe looks to land a combination but Kozlov avoids it well. Some wild striking there from Axe.
Axe is breathing heavily. Kozlov listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Axe throws a body punch but Kozlov moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kozlov lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Kozlov connects with a right hand. Axe shakes it off. Kozlov misses with a series of wild punches.
Kozlov jabs Axe right on the nose. Axe blinks but takes it well. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Axe takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Axe fails to land with a series of punches.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kozlov! But no joy. Eugene Axe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kozlov ducks under a wild hook from Axe. It seemed like Kozlov was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Axe misses with an uppercut. Kozlov darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Well, if Kozlov is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Kozlov catches Axe with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! A jab lands there for Kozlov. Kozlov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Axe napping and manages to drive through into side control! Kozlov in side control, just content to control the action for now. Kozlov is continuing to stall. Kozlov lands a decent elbow from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Axe wants to get back to his feet but Kozlov is dominant here and he's now got Axe's back! Kozlov cracks Axe with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Axe from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Axe is trying to get back to his feet but Kozlov has full control of the position and if anything, Axe has just worked his way into a worse spot. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ruban Kozlov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kozlov slips a nice elbow through Axe's hands, connecting with Axe's forehead. Kozlov not doing much here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kozlov trying to control the pace. Kozlov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Axe with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Axe tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Kozlov manages to move to mount!
Kozlov raining down shots from the mount! Kozlov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Kozlov postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Axe looks a forlorn figure.

Eugene Axe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ruban Kozlov is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Kozlov lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Axe hang on?
And that's the end of the fight! Ruban Kozlov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kozlov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
