Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jan Eckstroem! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Denis Stevenson! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Joseph Jones and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Stevenson as Eckstroem shoots in. Stevenson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Eckstroem throws a strike from the bottom but Stevenson passes into side control!
Eckstroem is looking for a sweep. You can see the frustration on Eckstroem's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stevenson is looking to take a break and control but Eckstroem is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Eckstroem wants to control but Stevenson postures up. Stevenson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Eckstroem keeps working.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Denis Stevenson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Eckstroem throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Stevenson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Eckstroem is in Stevenson's guard. Eckstroem has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Stevenson is proving hard to escape from. Eckstroem trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Eckstroem is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Stevenson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Eckstroem is looking to defend but Stevenson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Eckstroem! Stevenson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Eckstroem taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Denis Stevenson! Denis Stevenson was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
