Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, PJ Stock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ryo Takeshi! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stock feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Takeshi keeping moving, preventing Stock from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stock tries to free his leg and advance position but Takeshi is retaining full guard. Stock wants to control from the top but Takeshi keeps moving. Stock postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Takeshi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Stock, into his guard.
Stock looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Stock definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Takeshi in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Takeshi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stock works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stock wants to hit a switch here but Takeshi passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Stock there! Takeshi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Takeshi misses with a head shot. Takeshi lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Stock tries to hold on but Takeshi postures up. Stock gets back to half guard. Stock on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stock tries to get out of the position. Takeshi not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Stock tries to get to full guard but Takeshi has control of the leg. Stock trying to hold on to Takeshi's head to control him but Takeshi postures up.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stock is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Takeshi pulls his head out easily. Stock looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Takeshi throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Stock is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Takeshi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Takeshi's back! Stock has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Takeshi is in real trouble here. Stock gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Takeshi is tapping out! Stock wins by rear naked choke!
