PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carly Sarmiento (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bartek Gor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sarmiento kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bodies. Bartek Gor is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Gor as Sarmiento shoots in.
A cross from Sarmiento lands.
Gor will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Gor fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sarmiento avoids it really well and circles away.
Sarmiento misses with a combination

Sarmiento wants to get back to his feet but Gor is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Gor is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Sarmiento is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gor is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Gor decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Gor not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Sarmiento keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Gor is looking for a kimura here.

Sarmiento is not content to let Gor control the position.
Sarmiento tries to kick Gor off but Gor keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bartek Gor dominated that round.

It looks like Bartek Gor has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sarmiento is working Gor over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Gor is still in real trouble! Can Sarmiento finish him?

Sarmiento has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Gor has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sarmiento can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gor seems to have recovered his senses.

Gor is looking for a triangle but Sarmiento pushes his legs off easily.

Sarmiento got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gor has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sarmiento has managed to get both his arms back between Gor's legs - danger averted.

Sarmiento wants to control from the top but Gor keeps moving.
Gor has momentary wrist control but Sarmiento slips an elbow through the middle.
Sarmiento lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Gor working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sarmiento doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sarmiento manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sarmiento is in close to Gor's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Sarmiento postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Carly Sarmiento!
Carly Sarmiento decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
