The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Gomez moves into the clinch successfully.
Lapenkov throws a punch but it's blocked by Gomez.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Lapenkov stalling in the clinch but Gomez improves position.

Gomez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lapenkov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lapenkov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gomez tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Lapenkov is able to avoid easily.

Lapenkov takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Gomez throws a front kick aimed at Lapenkov's knee but Lapenkov avoids it well.
