The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lundin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Martinez to the ground. Lundin is now in Martinez's guard. Lundin stopping the sweep attempt from Martinez. Lundin controlling from the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Martinez wants to sweep here but Lundin controlling him for the moment. Martinez working a defensive guard here.
Lundin is stalling in the full guard. Let's hope that Lundin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Martinez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lundin is one step ahead there. Lundin throws an elbow that misses. That's two minutes gone in the round. Lundin content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Martinez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lundin on the ground. Lundin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Martinez has managed to free his arm - good work. Lundin throwing shots but Martinez is blocking nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lundin slows the pace down in half guard. Lundin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Martinez is just riding it out for now. Lundin eventually gives up the hold. Lundin is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Martinez is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
