Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ivan Kozlov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Badr Datsik! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kozlov scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Kozlov working Datsik over with strikes. Datsik is trying to control but Kozlov manages to pass to mount!
Kozlov dominating with strikes here. Kozlov has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Datsik's face.
Kozlov prevents Datsik from getting the reversal. Kozlov landing strikes from the mount. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kozlov lands a couple of good shots and Datsik has given up his back, trying to escape the position! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Datsik grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. Kozlov has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Datsik's body.
Kozlov definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Kozlov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kozlov is punishing Datsik with strikes - can he finish him?! Kozlov lands punches and elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kozlov lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK. Kozlov lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Datsik hold on?!
Can Datsik hold on?! Kozlov is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Datsik is rocked! Kozlov is raining down hard shots and and Datsik has had enough - he's tapped out due to the strikes!
