Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ramon Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Stannis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ramon Gonzales!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paul Stannis!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzales's corner calls for a 1-2. Gonzales obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Stannis swings widly with a right hand
and Gonzales counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gonzales scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Gonzales takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Gonzales ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Stannis has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Gonzales decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Stannis feints and as Gonzales raises his hands in defense, Stannis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Stannis is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Gonzales is defending well.

Horrible takedown attempt by Stannis or perhaps it was just good defense by Gonzales, which made it look bad.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Stannis postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gonzales is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Stannis, into his guard.
