Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Raul Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wilfred Trent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Raul Mendez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wilfred Trent! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendez feints a jab promting Trent to slip. Mendez then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Trent slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Trent shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Trent showed some decent athleticism there. Trent prevents Mendez from standing back up.
Mendez tries to get to full guard but Trent has control of the leg. Mendez is trying to stand back up but Trent is controlling him
Mendez looking for submissions off his back. Mendez is staying active underneath Trent, who seems content to just control the action from this position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Trent keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Mendez trying to control but Trent postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Trent working over Mendez with some ground and pound. Mendez looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trent blocks the strikes from Mendez.
Mendez looks like he's trying to stand up.
Mendez throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Mendez pushes Trent off looking to stand but Trent dives back in and keeps control.
My spies in MMA Sanok Training Center inform me that Trent has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Trent content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Trent shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Trent was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Mendez being controlled for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trent connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Mendez some visible discomfort.
Mendez takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Mendez looking for a sweep but Trent has passed into full mount! Oh no! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Trent looking to finish Mendez with some ground and pound. This is bad for Mendez! Trent is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Mendez can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Trent wants to control the pace but Mendez is squirming around nicely. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Trent raining down shots from the mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendez regains half guard. Mendez wants to control but Trent is keeping busy.
Trent is looking to take a break and control but Mendez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Trent moves nicely into side control. Trent lands some shots froms side control. Trent passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Mendez! Mendez is wriggling around trying to escape.
Trent is landing with some decent strikes but Mendez is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mendez working to try and regain half guard.
Trent sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Trent scoring with strikes but Mendez is staying in there. Trent with a couple of short strikes. Mendez is trying to escape the mount.
Mendez tries to lock up and control but Trent gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mendez is in a horrible position here. Trent smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Trent moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mendez has worked his arm free - good work by Mendez!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wilfred Trent dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Trent goes for a double leg but Mendez avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mendez continues to drive forward. Mendez with a poor takedown and Trent cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mendez is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Trent.
Mendez is rocked! Trent is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Mendez is in big trouble! Trent is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Mendez. Poor guy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Wilfred Trent!
