Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shawn Gilmore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dugong Bughaw!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bughaw tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gilmore looks for a takedown but Bughaw sprawls well.
Gilmore closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gilmore lands in his opponent's guard.
Gilmore is stalling in the full guard.
Bughaw is pulling down on Gilmore's head to control his posture.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gilmore passes Bughaw's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gilmore slips a nice elbow through Bughaw's hands, connecting with Bughaw's forehead.
Gilmore content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Gilmore seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bughaw for as long as he can get away with.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gilmore has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bughaw shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gilmore's guard.
Gilmore has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Bughaw sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Gilmore doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Bughaw paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Gilmore - great work!
