Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Malutin Andrey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eli Armis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Andrey might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Gunther -Ding Dong Song . Armis comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mortal Kombat Theme kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Malutin Andrey has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Malutin Andrey! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
26 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eli Armis! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Andrey leaves Armis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Andrey wants to clinch up but Armis keeps it at a distance. Armis uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Andrey. Andrey displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Armis fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A telegraphed right hand from Andrey misses the target. We've been told by Andrey's head coaches at Bruize Brothers that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Andrey misses with an uppercut
and Armis counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Armis. Armis prevents Andrey from getting back to his feet. Andrey keeping moving, preventing Armis from controlling successfully. Armis postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Armis stops Andrey from standing up. Armis looking to pass the guard. Armis lands a couple of digs. Armis wants to control from the top but Andrey keeps moving. Andrey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Armis won't allow Andrey to get back to his feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Armis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Andrey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Armis somewhat. Malutin Andrey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eli Armis.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Andrey misses with a double jab.
Armis shoots in looking for a takedown but Andrey manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Armis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Andrey seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Armis is trying hard to land a takedown here. Andrey sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A telegraphed right hand from Andrey misses the target. Andrey takes a jab right on the kisser.
Andrey loads up on a big right hand but Armis slips the punch. Armis tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Andrey will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Andrey clinches. Andrey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Andrey throws a leg kick that is checked and Armis counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Andrey is looking to escape. Armis sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Andrey defending well though. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Armis working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Armis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Armis is trying to control. Andrey wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Armis is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Armis is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Andrey sees it coming and defends easily. Andrey is trying to stand.
Andrey has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Armis is on him like a limpet, forcing Andrey back against the cage. Andrey scores with a hook to the body. A head punch on the inside from Andrey fails to land. Armis jumps guard but Andrey turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Andrey content to slow the pace in the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Andrey misses with a straight left. A head kick by Andrey misses and Armis counters with a nice double leg into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Andrey is looking to stand up but Armis isn't so interested in that idea. Armis trying to control but Andrey is working from the bottom. Armis prevents Andrey from getting back to his feet. Armis advances position into side control! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Armis prevents Andrey from escaping the position. Andrey takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Andrey is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Armis asserts his dominance and retains side control. Armis trying to control the action but Andrey is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Eli Armis will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Armis trying to control the action but Andrey is working from the bottom. Armis looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Andrey wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Armis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Armis moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Andrey instigates a clinch. Andrey stalling in the clinch but Armis improves position. Andrey is trying to stall.
Andrey tries to throw a body punch but Armis avoids it by throwing Andrey back against the cage. Armis tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Andrey smiles and moves away.
Armis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Armis lands in his opponent's guard. Andrey pushes Armis off and scrambles back to his feet.

Armis drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Andrey defends it well. A swing and a miss from Andrey. Andrey throws a series of punches but Armis moves out of range. That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice straight punches there by Andrey. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Andrey. Andrey throws a sloppy head kick and Armis moves out of range easily. Malutin Andrey is winning the standup battle so far. Armis shoots in for a takedown but Andrey shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Andrey misses with a body kick. Armis changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Armis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Armis lands in his opponent's guard. Armis with a flurry of punches that miss. Armis chips away with some ground and pound. Andrey keeping moving, preventing Armis from controlling successfully. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Andrey wants to stand but Armis is controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Eli Armis will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Andrey! Andrey really wants to buck Armis off and get back to his feet. Armis with good strikes from the mount here! This isn't 1993 though, so Andrey shrugs it off. Armis working for a guillotine from mount but Andrey is in no mood to give up. You get the feeling that Andrey really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Armis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Andrey wants to try and get back to his feet.

Andrey is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Armis has taken his back! Andrey is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Armis is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
