PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gilbert Burke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Feder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stan Feder will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gilbert Burke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stan Feder!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burke moves into range and clinches up with Feder.
Feder trying to control the position but instead, Burke has worked for underhooks and has pushed Feder into the cage.
Feder takes a shot to the head.
Feder is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Burke is trying to trip Feder. He has hold of a leg but Feder is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Burke persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Burke looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burke pushes down on Feder's leg and manages to get into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burke working over Feder with some ground and pound. Feder looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Burke is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Feder is just riding it out for now. Burke eventually gives up the hold.
Burke perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Feder is looking to control Burke's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Feder avoid being mounted?
Burke thows a huge punch but Feder dodges it nicely.

Burke decides to stand and escape the position.
Stan Feder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Feder lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Burke has taken the fight to the clinch.
Burke working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Feder is trying to force a seperation but Burke has the dominant position.
Burke lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Feder backwards.
A bit of stalling here from Burke.
Feder tries to pull guard but Burke won't allow it.
Feder has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Burke after a bit of a struggle.

Burke is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Burke lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
Burke is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Burke might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Burke lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Feder backwards.

Burke has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Feder regains guard immediately.

Burke seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Feder for as long as he can get away with.

Burke gets to his feet - Feder follows without any prompting.

Burke shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Burke showed some decent athleticism there.

Feder gets tackled into the cage by Burke. Burke maintains the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Burke makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Burke turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Burke manages to end up in side control.
Burke lands a decent elbow from side control.

Burke stands up and beckons Feder to his feet.

Feder gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Burke is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Feder takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Burke slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Burke decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Burke jumps guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burke manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Feder manages to get himself to full guard.


Feder escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Burke gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Burke decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Burke lands with a kick to the temple. Feder shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Burke closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Feder misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Burke.

Burke drags the fight down to the ground.
Burke pulls Feder in close to prevent any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Burke striking off his back but it's not causing Feder any problems.

Burke is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Feder presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Stan Feder has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Gilbert Burke is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Burke breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Burke has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
