The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stenberg takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stenberg is defended easily by Gashimov.
Stenberg uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gashimov.
Gashimov throws a body punch but Stenberg moves out of range.
And Stenberg tries to counter it with a takedown but Gashimov pushes his down on his head and steps out.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Stenberg enables Gashimov to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Stenberg manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Gashimov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

We've been hearing good reports from Gashimov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
