Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Javier Gattuso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aloysius Martin Thesz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gattuso's entrance music is WAR-Low Rider. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gattuso tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Aloysius Martin Thesz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thesz with a lazy takedown attempt
and Gattuso counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Aloysius Martin Thesz has been cut.
Gattuso throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Thesz drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Gattuso defends it well.
Thesz misses with a head kick.
Thesz clinches up with Gattuso and pushes him back against the cage.

Gattuso tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Thesz's elbow.
Thesz lands a left hand that snaps the head of Gattuso backwards.
Gattuso looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Gattuso lands a hook to the side of the head.
Gattuso is trying to push Thesz away but Thesz has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Gattuso tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Thesz's elbow.
A right handed body shot lands from Thesz.
Gattuso breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Thesz misses with a leg kick
and Gattuso counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Thesz steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gattuso.
And Thesz tries to counter it with a takedown but Gattuso pushes his down on his head and steps out.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Thesz with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Thesz looks to land a left hand but Gattuso moved out of range nicely.
Gattuso is looking for a counter combo.

Thesz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gattuso looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Javier Gattuso is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Gattuso checks a leg kick.
Gattuso on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Thesz throws a nice outside leg kick.
Thesz throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Thesz will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Gattuso is looking to counter punch.
Thesz misses the shot to the body.
Thesz thows a body kick. Gattuso tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Gattuso misses with an uppercut.
Gattuso has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Gattuso just misses with a punch to the body.
Thesz feints the counter takedown.
Nice defenses there by Gattuso.
The crowd cheers as Gattuso lands an impressive looking overhand right. Thesz doesn't seem phased though.
Thesz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gattuso sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Thesz somewhat.

A bone on bone clash there as Gattuso blocks the leg kick.
Gattuso tries a head kick but it misses.
Thesz scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Thesz is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gattuso.
Thesz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gattuso moves away.
Thesz steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gattuso.
Gattuso tries to score with a low kick but Thesz moves his leg out of the way.
Thesz feints the counter takedown.
Thesz throws out a leg kick but Gattuso moves out of range and Thesz only half commits.
Thesz buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Thesz wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Gattuso dips to his left and cracks Thesz with an uppercut!
Thesz fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gattuso avoids it really well and circles away.
Javier Gattuso has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aloysius Martin Thesz.
Thesz throws a low kick but it's checked well by Gattuso.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gattuso misses the jab.
Thesz takes a swing at Gattuso's ribcage but misses.
Gattuso cracks Thesz on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Thesz falls backwards against the cage. Gattuso follows up with more strikes that drop Thesz to his knees. Gattuso keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Thesz! This one is all over!
