Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bryce Daniel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Roberts!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberts throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Daniel moves into the clinch.
Roberts jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Daniel walks away with a smile on his face. Roberts gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Roberts has his takedown stuffed

and Daniel counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Bryce Daniel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Roberts.
Daniel lands an elbow that stopped Roberts in his tracks for a moment.
Daniel content to slow the pace in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Daniel seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Roberts drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Roberts is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Daniel is keeping busy.
Daniel lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Roberts.

Daniel stalls.
Roberts has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Daniel avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Daniel manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Bryce Daniel.
Roberts tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Daniel swivels and escapes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Daniel takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Roberts shoots in for a takedown but Daniel shows good takedown defense.

Daniel dives in and scores a takedown into Roberts's guard.
Daniel wants to stand but Roberts is controlling his posture from full guard.
Daniel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Daniel stays in close to Roberts's body and controls the position.
Daniel trying to stand up but can't free himself from Roberts's guard.

Daniel has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Roberts to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Daniel is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Roberts pulls down on the head and he's put Daniel to sleep! This one is all over!
