The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pro moves into range and clinches up with Hernandez. Hernandez is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Pro jumps guard and drags Hernandez to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Hernandez has gone for a leg lock! Pro slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hernandez's guard.
Pro has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Hernandez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pro defends it easily. Hernandez is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pro is aware though and is defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pro loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Pro wants to control from the top but Hernandez keeps moving. Hernandez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pro can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hernandez keeping moving, preventing Pro from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hernandez has a closed guard, preventing Pro from standing up. Hernandez has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Pro should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Hernandez has tightened it up now! Pro should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). David Hernandez!
