Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Risley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marvin Andrews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Risley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marvin Andrews!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Andrews closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Risley did well to prevent Andrews getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Risley wants to control but Andrews is keeping busy.
Risley is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Risley is working hard here to advance position.
Risley is not content to let Andrews control the position.
Risley is looking to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Andrews missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Risley has hold of Andrews's hands but Andrews slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Andrews not landing any meaningful shots this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Risley trying to control from the bottom.
Risley blocking the ground and pound attempt from Andrews.
Risley gets back to full guard.

Risley has his foot on Andrews's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Andrews works his way back into a safe position though.
Risley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Andrews's guard.

Our spies down at at The Seven Sins Grappling Academy inform us that Andrews has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Risley wants to stand but Andrews has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Risley engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Andrews is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Risley slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Risley passes into half guard.

Andrews looking for submissions off his back.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Risley in particular looking to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Andrews is not content to let Risley control the position.
Risley tries to pass the half guard into mount. Andrews knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Risley is keen to just control but Andrews is a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A left lands for Risley.
Risley connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Andrews momentarily.
Risley misses with an attempted mid kick.
Risley uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Andrews.
Risley misses with a body shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Risley misses the target.
Risley stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Risley wants it to stay on the feet.
Andrews tries to move into range but Risley moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Risley takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Risley lands a jab to Andrews's midsection.

Risley clinches up with Andrews and pushes him back against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Andrews's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Risley misses with a hook from the clinch.
Risley stalling in the clinch but Andrews improves position.
Andrews wants a takedown but no success here.
Risley struggles to land a body shot inside as Andrews controls his hands.

Risley breaks from the clinch.
Risley throws a hook but Andrews blocks it.
Risley connects with a solid leg kick.
Andrews swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Risley counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Andrews blocks a head kick by Risley.
Risley avoids a punch combination nicely.
Risley digs a good body shot into Andrews's ribs.
A chopping leg kick lands by Risley.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Risley dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Risley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Risley is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Andrews can do to turn this around?
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Andrews is defended easily by Risley.
No luck for Andrews with that takedown attempt.
Risley half committed to a counter leg kick.
Andrews fails to land the takedown.
Joe Risley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marvin Andrews.
Andrews shoots for a double leg takedown but Risley sprawls well. He's pushed Andrews's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Risley takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Marvin Andrews is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Andrews takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.


Andrews is rocked!
Andrews tries to close the distance and clinch but Risley swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Andrews is still on wobbly legs! Can Risley finish him?
Andrews is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Risley doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Andrews crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Andrews's bad books for that mishap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Joe Risley!
