Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Santiago Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Psycho Chris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palmer's entrance music is GSP - Not Impressed. A fine choice. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Santiago Palmer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Psycho Chris!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Roberts and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chris shoots for a takedown but Palmer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Palmer takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Palmer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Chris! But no joy.
Chris throws a right hand that Palmer ducks under and follows up with a left that Palmer also avoids with ease.
Chris scores with a nice head shot.
Psycho Chris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chris scores with a one two! Palmer had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Chris tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Palmer was well out of range. Poor timing from Chris.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Palmer is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Chris is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chris can do anything to dispel that myth.

That was a close round but I would say that Santiago Palmer will probably get the nod.

Psycho Chris seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Palmer is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Chris is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Chris has escaped and now he's on top!

Palmer seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Palmer postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Chris is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Palmer, into his guard.

Chris throws an elbow that misses. Palmer uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Chris's guard. Nice move by Palmer!
