Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Dejesus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nonito Jorge!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jorge misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nonito Jorge seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jorge closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Jorge using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Dejesus has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Jorge keeps control of Dejesus as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Dejesus is trying to push Jorge away but Jorge has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Jorge keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dejesus's efforts to push away.
Dejesus wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jorge shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dejesus as he avoids it easily.
Jorge is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dejesus sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Dejesus tries to close the distance and clinch but Jorge swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jorge shoots for a double leg takedown but Dejesus sprawls well. He's pushed Jorge's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Dejesus counters with a big head kick but Jorge shrugs it off.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jorge looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Dejesus shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Dejesus was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Dejesus will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dejesus has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Jorge is looking to land body kicks.
Jorge stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jorge wants it to stay on the feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Samuel Dejesus will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Dejesus closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jorge did well to prevent Dejesus getting side control.

Jorge pushes Dejesus off looking to stand but Dejesus dives back in and keeps control.
Dejesus winds up and cracks Jorge with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Dejesus really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jorge tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dejesus smiles and moves away.

Jorge throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jorge feints a jab promting Dejesus to slip. Jorge then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Dejesus slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Jorge tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dejesus sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jorge somewhat.
Jorge scores with a hook to the body. Dejesus takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Jorge shoots in looking for a takedown. Dejesus tries to sprawl out of it but Jorge keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dejesus manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Samuel Dejesus.
Well Dejesus has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
