Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Harrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrei Stepniak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Harrison has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, James Harrison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrei Stepniak! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stepniak looks to land a body kick but Harrison moved away. Harrison wants to clinch. Harrison drives through and clinches with Stepniak against the cage.
Harrison is trying to break free. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Harrison takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Harrison escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice shot lands for Harrison. Stepniak closes the distance but Harrison moves to the side and Harrison holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Harrison works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Stepniak working a defensive guard here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Harrison's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Harrison wants to control from the top but Stepniak keeps moving. Stepniak is trying to keep Harrison in close.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Harrison scoring well with a low kick there.
Stepniak throws a leg kick and Harrison counters by moving into the clinch. Stepniak holding his opponent close, against the cage.

Harrison shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stepniak pinned against the cage. Stepniak gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Stepniak scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Harrison throws a nice outside leg kick. Harrison tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stepniak swivels and escapes. Harrison is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stepniak scores with a takedown into Harrison's guard. Stepniak advances to half guard. Stepniak is stalling here. Harrison is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Stepniak seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Harrison has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Stepniak is being controlled here. Stepniak tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Harrison wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Stepniak struggling a bit here. Stepniak tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Harrison presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stepniak reaches up and holds on to Harrison to control the position. Stepniak sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Stepniak works his way to full guard. Good work. Harrison gets to his feet - Stepniak follows without any prompting. Stepniak has his takedown stuffed and Harrison counters by clinching up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Harrison dominated that round. That's time! Harrison's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Harrison drives through with a takedown into guard. Stepniak looking to hit a scissor sweep but Harrison is one step ahead there. Stepniak utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Stepniak looking to control.
Stepniak has his foot on Harrison's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Harrison works his way back into a safe position though. Harrison trying to control the position from guard on top but Stepniak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Stepniak wants to control the position but Harrison says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harrison perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Stepniak is trying to control but can't.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Stepniak looks to clinch and Harrison counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Stepniak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Harrison is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Harrison preventing the sweep. Harrison looking to pass the guard. Stepniak is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stepniak has a closed guard, preventing Harrison from standing up. Harrison throws a big right hand that misses. Harrison wants to control from the top but Stepniak keeps moving.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Stepniak drives through and clinches with Harrison against the cage.
Harrison has hold of one of Stepniak's legs. Stepniak is fighting the takedown attempt but Harrison gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Stepniak has his foot on Harrison's thigh. That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Harrison wants to pass the guard but Stepniak is keeping the position. Harrison controls from within his opponent's guard. Harrison is looking to work some ground and pound but Stepniak has wrist control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Stepniak feints and as Harrison raises his hands in defense, Stepniak changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Stepniak looking to pass the guard. Stepniak sitting in guard here, content to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Harrison dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Harrison avoids a wild elbow strike from Stepniak. Harrison has picked Stepniak up - he's going for a ride! Harrison dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Stepniak gets full guard. Harrison being controlled here momentarily. Harrison trying to control but Stepniak is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Stepniak tries to land a sweep but no joy. Stepniak has his hands on Harrison's head, controlling the position. Harrison trying to control but Stepniak is working from the bottom. Harrison has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Stepniak is proving hard to escape from.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A head kick by Stepniak misses and Harrison decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stepniak's guard. Stepniak looking for subs off his back but Harrison has passed one foot through into half guard.
Harrison seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stepniak does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Harrison is really struggling to control Stepniak but he's trying to hold on to the position. Stepniak wants to control but Harrison is keeping busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Harrison trying to control the action but Stepniak is working from the bottom. Stepniak is defending against the submission attempts here by Harrison.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Harrison is thwarting Stepniak's attempts to control the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Harrison wants to clinch. Stepniak fails with the takedown and Harrison makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Stepniak really felt that one! James Harrison is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Harrison blocks a head kick by Stepniak.
The fight stays on the outside here - Harrison looks like he's thinking about clinching though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Stepniak tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Harrison paws at him with a jab and circles away. Andrei Stepniak has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! James Harrison is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Stepniak throws a body kick the misses and Harrison counters with a thumping low kick.
And that's the end of the fight! James Harrison showed his dominance in that final round. Well Harrison has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
