Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Buford Schultz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carmo Svan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Buford Schultz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carmo Svan!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Svan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Schultz to the mat! Schultz manages to get full guard.
Svan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Schultz wriggles free and stands up.

Svan tries to keep at a distance but Schultz has taken the fight into the clinch.
Schultz pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Svan is trying to break free.
Schultz wants to get back to striking at distance but Svan won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Svan lands a takedown into guard.
Svan controlling from the top position.

Svan stands and steps away. Schultz gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

A head kick misses from Schultz.

Svan gets a double leg takedown into Schultz's guard.
Svan wants to control from the top but Schultz keeps moving.
Svan wanted to stand there but Schultz had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Schultz kicks Svan off and gets to his feet.

Svan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Svan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Schultz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Schultz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Svan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Schultz is looking to escape.
Svan is looking to advance position but Schultz won't allow it.
Schultz tries to kick Svan off but Svan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Svan seems to be looking for submissions.
Schultz is trying is best to control the position here.
Svan is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Schultz reverses the position - he's now on top in Svan's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Schultz's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Svan working a defensive guard but Schultz manages to pass into side control anyway.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Buford Schultz will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Schultz clinches up with Svan and pushes him back against the cage.

Svan manages to pull guard.
Schultz postures up and lands a big shot to Svan's brow.
Schultz not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Schultz prevents Svan from getting back to his feet.
Schultz is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Svan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Svan has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Schultz has passed into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Svan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Schultz asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Schultz is putting a hurting on Svan here, landing some big shots from side control.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Svan shoots in and gets a takedown into Schultz's guard.

Schultz has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Svan off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Svan rushes Schultz and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Svan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Schultz wants to clinch up but Svan keeps it at a distance.

Schultz gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Svan to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Schultz wriggles free and stands up.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Svan misses with a hook

and Schultz decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Svan's guard.

Schultz is stalling in the full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Schultz has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

I would just about give that final round to Carmo Svan.
I think Schultz has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
