The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cerrone tries to clinch but Vertebral moves out of range.
Cerrone wants to clinch but Vertebral slips to the side
and Vertebral cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Richard Cerrone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cerrone tries to clinch up
and Vertebral counters with a stiff right hand.
Vertebral connects with a right hand. Cerrone shakes it off.
Cerrone tries to clinch but Vertebral moves out of range.
Cerrone tries to close the distance and clinch but Vertebral swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cerrone tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Vertebral manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cerrone on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Vertebral scores a knockdown with a big right hand! Cerrone beats the count and gets back to his feet. The referee asks him to walk forwards and it appears he is OK so we'll continue the bout.

Cerrone is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cerrone wants to clinch up but Vertebral keeps it at a distance.
Vertebral looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Oh Cerrone is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vertebral circles away from the clinch attempt.
Vertebral connects with a quick right hand that sends Cerrone tumbling backwards onto the canvas! As his head bounces into the cage, it doesn't look good for him beating the count! 3,4,5,6,7 and he's up! No, he's back down again! This one is all over - the referee has called off the fight!
