Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cain Mcgregor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Randall Wickam!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgregor shoots in for a takedown but Wickam shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mcgregor closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mcgregor will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Mcgregor shoots for a double leg takedown but Wickam sprawls well. He's pushed Mcgregor's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cain Mcgregor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A lazy left from Wickam finds it's target.

Wickam ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mcgregor moves away.
Mcgregor shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wickam as he jumps to the side.

Mcgregor walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Wickam misses with a straight left.
Wickam keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Nice takedown defense from Wickam. No joy for Mcgregor on that attempt.
As Mcgregor backs off Wickam throws a huge counter combo but Mcgregor manages to avoid it all.

A slow jab from Wickam misses its intended target.
Horrible takedown attempt by Mcgregor or perhaps it was just good defense by Wickam, which made it look bad.
Nice takedown defense from Wickam. No joy for Mcgregor on that attempt.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Wickam has cracked Mcgregor with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Wickam lands another huge swinging hook and Mcgregor tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Mcgregor, before Wickam can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Randall Wickam!
An out of breath Randall Wickam thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
