Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Gurr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes into the arena with Kid Rock - Cowboy blaring out of the sound system. Joe Gurr will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Gurr! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson drives through with a takedown into Gurr's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Johnson sitting in guard here, content to control. Johnson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Johnson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Johnson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Johnson prevents Gurr from getting back to his feet. Johnson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Gurr looking to hit a scissor sweep but Johnson is one step ahead there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gurr swivels though and keeps the full guard. Johnson stops Gurr from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson trying to control but Gurr is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gurr shoots in and drives through. Johnson sprawls well. Johnson moves into range and clinches up with Gurr. Johnson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Johnson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gurr knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Gurr is trying to get back to half guard. Johnson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gurr is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Johnson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gurr, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gurr is looking to regain half guard here but Johnson keeps moving and retains side control. Johnson taking a breather here. Johnson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Johnson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Johnson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Johnson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gurr can't do much from the bottom here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Johnson is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Gurr is trying to escape and Johnson transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Gurr is forced to tap! Nice work there by Johnson! Very nice indeed!
