PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alan Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ham Bone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alan Dean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ham Bone!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bone ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dean moves away.
Dean doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bone counters with a nice body shot.
Bone lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Dean backs up against the cage.


It looks like Alan Dean has been cut.
Bone rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Dean counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Bone has a hand on Dean's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Dean takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Dean has hold of Bone's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bone manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Dean controlling the position easily from mount.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dean wants to control the pace but Bone is squirming around nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bone tries to lock up and control but Dean gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Dean has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bone's face.
Dean throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Bone because Dean loaded up on that one.
Dean controlling from mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bone can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dean wants to control the pace but Bone is squirming around nicely.
Dean unloads with some shots from mount but Bone bucks and avoids them well.
The referee warns Bone that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Dean throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Dean tries to control but Bone wriggling away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dean has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bone is wriggling around trying to escape.
Dean fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Dean thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Bone tries to hold on but Dean pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dean takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bone is squirming around, avoiding Dean's attempts to control the action.
Bone really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dean. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bone is in all sorts of trouble here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bone swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dean.
Bone lands a lovely overhand right.
Alan Dean is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dean moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Bone fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Dean throws a lazy right hand but Bone sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Bone connects with the punch.
Dean doesn't manage to clinch there - Bone circles away.
Decent striking displayed by Bone there.
Dean fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Bone is out of range.
Dean shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bone counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Bone connects with a body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dean throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Bone connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Bone scores with a jab to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dean misses with a jab, cross combination.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bone dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Ham Bone seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Bone throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Bone punishes Dean's body with a nice straight punch.
Bone misses with a wild combination.
Dean takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Bone lands with a hook. Dean tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Bone blocks a low kick nicely.
Bone scores with a nice right hand.
Bone cracks a nice hook into Dean's ribs.
Bone lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ham Bone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bone swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dean.


Dean is rocked!
Bone tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Bone feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Dean sprawling to the canvas! Dean rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Bone finish him?!
Oh Dean is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dean checks a leg kick.
Bone listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Bone throws a monster overhand right that drops Dean! Bone follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ham Bone!
