Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kana Koa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Santino Carolla!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carolla checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
A little jabbing left from Carolla on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Carolla uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Koa.
Koa goes for a double leg but Carolla avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Carolla continues to drive forward.
Left hook, right uppercut from Carolla.
Carolla throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Koa is looking to clinch.
Koa walks into a left hand.
Koa with a poor takedown
and Carolla makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Koa is looking to clinch but Carolla is avoiding it.
Koa pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A combination from Koa does no damage.
A head kick by Koa misses
and Carolla counters with a series of strikes. Koa will be more careful next time no doubt.

Koa drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carolla can do anything to dispel that myth.
Koa wants to control from the top but Carolla keeps moving.
Carolla has his hands on Koa's head, controlling the position.
Koa sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Koa being controlled here momentarily.
Koa wants to stand but Carolla has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Carolla is pulling down on Koa's head. It's preventing any offense from Koa, at least for the moment.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carolla is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Carolla shuts the power down on Koa. Lights out, game over! Carolla is your winner.
