Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Floyd Lawton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samson Ransom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawton scores with a takedown into Ransom's guard.
Lawton is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Ransom controls Lawton momentarily but Lawton frees himself.
Lawton wants to control from the top but Ransom keeps moving.
Ransom tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Ransom jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Lawton is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Lawton and Ransom has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Ransom seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

and Lawton counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ransom won't be happy with that.

Ransom had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lawton is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Ransom Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lawton's back instead.
Will Ransom go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Ransom gets his hands free as Lawton looks to control.

Lawton is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lawton is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Lawton breaks Ransom's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Ransom working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lawton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lawton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
