Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Shephard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hoy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shephard comes to the cage accompanied by You All Everybody. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Anthony Taglia and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shephard misses with a double jab.
Nelson feints a jab promting Shephard to slip. Nelson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Shephard slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Shephard is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Nelson misses with a body punch
and Shephard cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Nelson tries to land a front kick but Shephard steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Shephard takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Nelson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

It looks like Jack Shephard has been cut.

Nelson dodges the ground and pound from Shephard.
Shephard tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shephard has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shephard is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Nelson's shoulder. That is not cool.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Shephard landing strikes.
Shephard looking to control but instead Nelson has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Nelson tries to kick Shephard off but Shephard keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Shephard not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Nelson wants to get back to his feet.
Shephard is working for a kimura here but Nelson manages to reverse the position and he's now in Shephard's guard.
Nelson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Nelson is looking to work some ground and pound but Shephard has wrist control.
Nelson throws a big right hand that misses.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Shephard is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nelson defends well.
Shephard wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Nelson is now in half guard.
Shephard definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Shephard is refusing to be controlled, as Nelson sits in half guard.
Nelson is pressing down on Shephard's thigh, looking to free his foot. Shephard is holding on for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Shephard will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Nelson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nelson drops his hands for a split second and Shephard immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Nelson face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Shephard follows up with a right hand that knocks Nelson into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!

A less than humble Jack Shephard misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
