The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Some wild striking there from Jones.
Jones's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Luche connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jones scrambles back to his feet.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jones.

Jones looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Jones tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The ground and pound from Jones seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Luche is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Jones creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Luche sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Luche really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jones is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Luche to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Luche shrugs it off.

Jones is working for a guillotine from mount but Luche frees his head quite easily.
