Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ignazy Stawski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mathieu Patrice Boulpiquante!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jorge Garcia and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stawski closes the distance looking to clinch
and Boulpiquante counters with a nice leg kick.
Boulpiquante misses the shot to the body.
Boulpiquante loads up on a big right hand but Stawski slips the punch.

Boulpiquante forces Stawski back against the cage and clinches.
Boulpiquante misses with an elbow over the top.
Boulpiquante blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Stawski lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Stawski throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boulpiquante is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Boulpiquante working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stawski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stawski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Boulpiquante has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Stawski is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Boulpiquante.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Stawski connects with a nice short shot to Boulpiquante's temple.

Stawski definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Boulpiquante is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stawski's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stawski's back!
Stawski wants to control his opponent's hands but Boulpiquante gets his hands free.

Boulpiquante is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Stawski defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Boulpiquante has got his arm under Stawski's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Stawski has spun round into Boulpiquante's guard beautifully! Well done that man!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ignazy Stawski will probably get the nod.

Boulpiquante throws a wild body kick that Stawski sees coming a mile off.
Stawski connects with a good right hand that stumbles Boulpiquante. Boulpiquante circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Boulpiquante tries to score with a low kick but Stawski moves his leg out of the way.
Boulpiquante fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Stawski on the side of the head.
Stawski throws a jab but it's blocked by Boulpiquante.
Boulpiquante connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Stawski's hands.
Boulpiquante throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Stawski scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boulpiquante has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stawski is working away from the top position though.

Boulpiquante is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Stawski pulls his head out easily.

Ignazy Stawski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Stawski stands up over Boulpiquante, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Boulpiquante has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Stawski doesn't defend quickly enough and Boulpiquante has managed to lock this one up! Can Stawski escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Boulpiquante on a fantastic submission victory.

Mathieu Patrice Boulpiquante tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
