12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James Raban! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Webb Jr! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Raban throws a body kick that misses. Nice defenses there by Raban. Raban misses with a looping right. Raban ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Sloppy strikes from Webb Jr. Those never looked like landing. Raban moves out of range of the body kick from Webb Jr.
Raban throws a front kick that sends Webb Jr stumbling back into the cage. Raban misses with a body kick. Raban throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Raban bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A head kick by Raban misses and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Raban throws a low kick but Webb Jr avoids it. Raban scores with a head kick. Webb Jr tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Raban bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Webb Jr takes a swing at Raban's ribcage but misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Raban decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Webb Jr is refusing to be controlled, as Raban sits in half guard. Webb Jr is looking to control Raban's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Webb Jr avoid being mounted? Raban wants to pass the guard but Webb Jr is defending well. Raban lands with a punch from half guard. Raban thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Webb Jr wants to improve his position but Raban is controlling well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Raban missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Raban throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Webb Jr has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Raban is working away from the top position though. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Webb Jr is looking to improve his position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A cross from Webb Jr lands.
It looks like James Raban has been cut. Webb Jr misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Raban.
Horrible takedown attempt by Raban or perhaps it was just good defense by Webb Jr, which made it look bad. Jimmy Webb Jr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Webb Jr throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. James Raban seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Webb Jr pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Raban smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Webb Jr on the wrong end of a nice jab. Webb Jr misses with a hook. Webb Jr throws a body punch but Raban moves out of range. Raban throws a head kick that misses. Raban rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Webb Jr counters with a two punch combo. Raban connects with a body shot that sends Webb Jr's belly button to the back. Webb Jr on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Raban just misses with a punch to the body.

Webb Jr connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Raban's hands.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A slapping body kick lands there for Raban. Raban misses with a body kick. Raban throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Raban tries to land a body kick and Webb Jr counters with a nice uppercut. Raban fails with the takedown and Webb Jr counters with a stiff right hand. Raban uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Webb Jr. Webb Jr uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Raban. Webb Jr misses with a low kick as Raban jumps back. Webb Jr with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Raban throws a nice looking combination but Webb Jr bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Raban throws a lazy body kick and Webb Jr counters with a nice body shot. Raban shoots for a double leg takedown but Webb Jr sprawls well. He's pushed Raban's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that James Raban will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on James Raban's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Raban avoids the body shot from Webb Jr.
A punch lands to the side of Raban 's head but he takes it in his stride. Webb Jr moves away from the strike by Raban. Raban throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Raban shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Raban shoots for a takedown but Webb Jr saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Raban misses with an uppercut. Webb Jr saw that one coming. Raban shoots in for a takedown but Webb Jr shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Raban. That's going to take a lot out of him. Webb Jr drops his hands momentarily and Raban takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A slow jab from Raban misses its intended target. Raban waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Webb Jr. A jab from Webb Jr does it's job there. Raban throws a head kick but Webb Jr moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round. Raban walks into a jab. Raban takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Raban swinging wildly here.
Despite the aggression on Webb Jr's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Raban misses with a left hand and Webb Jr counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
James Raban's cut is getting worse. Raban pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Webb Jr lands with a cross. Raban shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Raban showed some decent athleticism there. Webb Jr blocking the ground and pound attempt from Raban.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Webb Jr is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Raban's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Raban's back! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Raban tries to roll but Webb Jr sticks to his back.
Raban is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Sanitarium, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Webb Jr punishes Raban with strikes from the back mount. Raban tries to escape but Webb Jr has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Webb Jr is working the ground and pound. Can Raban escape? Webb Jr loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can Raban hold on?
Jeez, James Raban's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at James Raban's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
