The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sharpe forces Summers back against the cage and clinches. Sharpe wants to stall.
Sharpe has Summers pressed against the cage, preventing Summers from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Summers is trying to break the clinch but Sharpe is controlling him. Sharpe tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Summers smiles and moves away.
Sharpe moves into the clinch. Summers breaks from the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sharpe clinches up against the cage. Sharpe wants to break the clinch but can't.

Sharpe throws a head kick that misses and Summers counters with a two punch combo. Summers tries to clinch but Sharpe moves out of range. Sharpe misses with a hook. A momentary lapse in concentration from Sharpe enables Summers to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sharpe manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Summers stands up from guard. Let's bang! Summers shoots in and bounces Sharpe off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Sharpe looking to hit a scissor sweep but Summers is one step ahead there. Summers not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Summers wanted to stand there but Sharpe had control of the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Summers engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Summers would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Sharpe takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Summers tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sharpe swivels and escapes. David Sharpe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Summers closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sharpe to the mat! Sharpe manages to get full guard. Summers not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Summers stands up and waves to Sharpe to follow him. Sharpe has closed the distance and engaged Summers in a clinch.

Summers ducks under a wild hook from Sharpe. Sharpe tries to sprawl but Summers drives through with a takedown into half guard. Summers tries to stand but can't do so whilst Sharpe controls his leg. Summers slows the pace down in half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sharpe wants to stand back up but Summers manages to pass into side control.
