Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Billy Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Silla Kim!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe tries to clinch there but Kim circles away.
Joe fails with the takedown.
Kim avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Joe is looking to clinch.
Kim feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Joe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kim wants to control from the top but Joe keeps moving.
Kim stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Joe swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kim is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Joe shoots and misses
and Kim counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Joe!
Kim working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Kim trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Kim avoids the attempt from Joe to control.
Joe tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Joe looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
I really don't envy Joe right now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kim is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Joe has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Kim is cranking Joe's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Joe! He's tightened the choke and Joe is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Silla Kim!
