Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yuya Shimizu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tantalus Flay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shimizu comes into the arena with Lost Frequencies - Are You With Me blaring out of the sound system. Flay comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Outerspace- Revolution kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yuya Shimizu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Tantalus Flay! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shimizu feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Flay's calf. Flay throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Shimizu on the side of the head. A looping hook to the body misses from Flay. Shimizu does a little dance to reset his feet. Flay uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Shimizu. Flay throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Shimizu on the side of the head. Shimizu keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Flay. Flay keeps the fight on the outside. Flay ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shimizu moves away. A looping hook to the body misses from Flay. Shimizu does a little dance to reset his feet. A clash of legs there as Flay blocks the low kick. Flay throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. It looked like Shimizu was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Shimizu steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Flay. Shimizu tries to counter by clinching up but Flay breaks away and moves out of range. Shimizu throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Flay on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Shimizu. Shimizu obviously looking to wear him down.
Flay throws a right hand that Shimizu ducks under and follows up with a left that Shimizu also avoids with ease. Shimizu avoids the body shot from Flay.
Shimizu was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Shimizu looks to land a right hand but Flay moved out of range. Shimizu does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Shimizu moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shimizu tries a head kick but it misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice defenses there by Shimizu. A looping hook to the body misses from Flay. Shimizu does a little dance to reset his feet. and Flay counters with a single leg into guard. Shimizu didn't expect that. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Flay is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Shimizu is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Shimizu has escaped and now he's on top! Shimizu trying to control the position from guard on top but Flay is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shimizu might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Shimizu stopping the sweep attempt from Flay.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shimizu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Flay is keeping the position for now. Flay looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Flay keeps trying to improve his position. Shimizu throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Flay works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Flay looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Flay is trying to keep Shimizu in close.
Shimizu is working Flay over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Flay is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shimizu keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flay looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Shimizu keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Flay throwing shots but Shimizu is blocking nicely. Flay sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Shimizu defending well though. Flay not landing any meaningful shots this time. Flay missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Flay thows a huge punch but Shimizu dodges it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Flay throwing shots but Shimizu is blocking nicely.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Flay swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Shimizu walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Flay throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Flay scores with a hook to the body. Shimizu takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. A telegraphed right hand from Flay misses the target. Flay is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Flay misses the shot to the body. Flay ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Flay drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Shimizu defends it well. Shimizu is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Flay's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Flay tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shimizu was well out of range. Poor timing from Flay. Shimizu fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Flay has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Flay throws an overhand right that lands on Shimizu's shoulder, as Shimizu tries to avoid the shot. Shimizu takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Shimizu walks into a left hand. Flay misses with a body shot.
Shimizu missing with a left hand there. Flay was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A nice leg kick lands there from Shimizu. Shimizu throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Flay's head.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Flay moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Shimizu takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Shimizu is looking to slow Flay down with leg kicks. A head kick misses from Shimizu. Shimizu pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Flay is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Flay shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shimizu as he jumps to the side. Flay looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Shimizu! Shimizu can't do much from the bottom here. Flay happy to just control the position for now.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Flay wants to control but Shimizu is keeping him busy. Shimizu struggling a bit here. Flay trying to control the position but Shimizu is working away.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Flay throws an elbow but Shimizu slips to the side and avoids it well. Shimizu tries to buck Flay off but Flay is having none of it.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Flay lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shimizu circles away quickly and effectively. Shimizu checks a low kick from Flay. Flay connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Flay is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Shimizu had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Shimizu uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Flay. Shimizu scores with the left hand. Flay knows he should have avoided that one. Shimizu misses with a low kick. Flay lands a nice looking body shot.
Flay misses the shot to the body. Shimizu appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Shimizu checks the leg kick nicely there.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Flay throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Shimizu tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Flay is in Shimizu's guard. Flay throwing strikes but missing. Shimizu keeping moving, preventing Flay from controlling successfully. Flay landing some decent shots from guard. Flay looking to sit in guard and control but Shimizu gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Shimizu won't allow Flay to sweep him here.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Flay is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Flay throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Flay is trying to control the position but Shimizu postures up. Flay managing to control the position. Flay controls Shimizu momentarily but Shimizu frees himself. Shimizu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Flay is keeping the position for now. Flay wants to sweep but no luck.
And that's the end of the fight! Tantalus Flay comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Flay has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Tantalus Flay! A relieved looking Tantalus Flay thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
