Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Jamison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dennis Oppelaar!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jamison swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Oppelaar unleashes a big counter combination but Jamison bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Jamison misses with an attempted mid kick.
Jamison goes for a double leg but Oppelaar avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Oppelaar continues to drive forward.
Jamison ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Oppelaar misses with a few strikes there.
Jamison with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Jamison shoots in and gets a takedown into Oppelaar's guard.

Oppelaar looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jamison has picked Oppelaar up and slammed him! Oppelaar can't keep hold of the triangle and Jamison manages to pass to side control!
Oppelaar is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Oppelaar tries to escape but Jamison is in control.
Oppelaar tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jamison wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Jamison lands a few punches from side control.
Oppelaar looks to move to half guard but instead Jamison has passed into mount! Damn!
Oppelaar working to try and regain half guard.
Jamison lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Oppelaar bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Jamison has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Oppelaar should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Jamison has tightened it up now! Oppelaar should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). John Jamison!
