Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Victor Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Markov Petrenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Victor Wong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Markov Petrenko! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wong doesn't manage to clinch there - Petrenko circles away.
And Petrenko tries to counter it with a takedown but Wong pushes his down on his head and steps out. Wong closes the distance but Petrenko moves to the side and Petrenko counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Petrenko slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Petrenko postures up in Wong's guard and throws a big left but Wong blocks it. Wong wants to stand but Petrenko is controlling the position. Petrenko trying to control the position from guard on top but Wong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Petrenko is pushing down on Wong's leg trying to pass to half guard. Wong is fighting to maintain full guard but Petrenko has managed to sneak the leg through. Wong is trying to stand.
Wong has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Petrenko is working away from the top position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wong is looking to escape. Wong regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Petrenko. Wong keeping full guard, as Petrenko tries to pass. Wong manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Petrenko manages to get himself to full guard.
Petrenko has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Petrenko is looking for a triangle here but Wong uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Petrenko is looking to advance position but Wong has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Petrenko is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Petrenko tries to lock up and control but Wong gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Wong is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent. Wong trying to control but Petrenko is having none of it. Petrenko is trying to escape the mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Petrenko tries to hold on but Wong pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Victor Wong will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Wong clinches up with Petrenko and pushes him back against the cage. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Wong throws a knee to the head but misses.

Petrenko has Wong pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Wong manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Wong gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Petrenko regains guard.
Petrenko has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Wong is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Petrenko. Petrenko regains half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Petrenko tries to roll over but Wong keeps him under control. Wong is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Petrenko can do to turn this around? Wong wants to stand but Petrenko has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Petrenko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Wong blocks the strikes from Petrenko.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wong content to control rather than advance. Petrenko looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Petrenko looking for a kimura from the bottom but Wong passes into side control! Petrenko is looking to regain half guard here but Wong keeps moving and retains side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. You can see the frustration on Petrenko's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Wong has control of an arm but Petrenko manages to advance to Wong's back! Petrenko is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Petrenko with the counter takedown but Wong avoids it easily. Wong rushes Petrenko and presses him up against the cage.

Wong tightens his grip and picks Petrenko up, before dumping him to the ground. Petrenko manages to land in guard. Petrenko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Petrenko had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wong defends it easily. Petrenko looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Wong is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Wong gets to his feet. Petrenko looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Wong fails in his attempt to clinch. Petrenko shapes to counter with a head kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wong throws a combination that misses and Petrenko counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Wong is trying to stand up here but Petrenko is controlling him well. Petrenko is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wong moves to clinch but Petrenko breaks away and Petrenko counters with a takedown into side control. Petrenko goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Wong rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Petrenko's guard! Nice work there by Wong! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Wong gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Markov Petrenko has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wong tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Wong connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
And that's the end of the fight! Victor Wong showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wong, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
