The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Singh Negi pushes Powers up against the cage in a clinch. Powers lands a shot to the body. Singh Negi stops a takedown attempt from Powers.

Singh Negi looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Singh Negi scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Powers manages to mount him!

That has opened up Kshitij Singh Negi's cut even more. Powers raining down hammerfists from mount. Singh Negi is still in real trouble! Can Powers finish him?

Powers is landing with some decent strikes but Singh Negi is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Powers raining down shots from the mount! This has been an exciting period of action! Singh Negi's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Powers loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Powers throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Singh Negi is looking to stand up but Powers isn't so interested in that idea. Troy Powers is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Troy Powers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Powers is looking to work some ground and pound but Singh Negi has wrist control. Kshitij Singh Negi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Powers is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Singh Negi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Powers is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Powers is pushing down on Singh Negi's leg trying to pass to half guard. Singh Negi is fighting to maintain full guard but Powers has managed to sneak the leg through. Powers winds up and cracks Singh Negi with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Powers works his way into side control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Singh Negi can do anything to dispel that myth. Singh Negi bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Singh Negi wants to clinch up but Powers keeps it at a distance.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Troy Powers. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Powers, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Troy Powers! Troy Powers decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
