Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gerald Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pika Chu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pika Chu acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gerald Wood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pika Chu! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Kavanagh and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wood is looking to clinch. Chu changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wood looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Wood wants to get back to his feet but Chu drags him back down. Wood is looking to regain half guard here but Chu keeps moving and retains side control. Chu in side control, just content to control the action for now. Chu lands an elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wood tries to improve position but can't. Chu is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Wood's shoulder. That is not cool. Wood is looking to regain half guard here but Chu keeps moving and retains side control. Wood is breathing heavily. Wood struggling a bit here. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Chu shoots in but no luck this time. Chu has a takedown stuffed.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wood tries to clinch up but Chu circles away and keeps his distance. Chu with the counter takedown but Wood avoids it easily. Chu shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wood manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Chu slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Wood looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Wood is working hard here to advance position. Wood being controlled here, momentarily. Wood seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wood wants to stand but Chu is controlling the position. Wood can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Chu controls the pace.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Chu drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Chu's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Wood is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Chu is controlling him. Chu is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Let's hope that Chu has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pika Chu dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Chu looking for a takedown here - he's got it. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Chu is stalling in the full guard. Chu has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Chu won't allow Wood to sweep him here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chu slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Chu is looking to stand up but Wood won't let him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chu sitting in guard, not really doing much. Chu's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Chu keeps the fight on the outside. Chu misses with a takedown attempt - Wood sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Chu with a poor takedown and Wood counters with a series of strikes. Chu will be more careful next time no doubt. Nice takedown defense from Wood. No joy for Chu on that attempt. Wood drops down looking for a counter takedown but Chu sprawls and moves away. Gerald Wood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pika Chu. Chu closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Wood's guard. Chu is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Chu trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Wood looking to control.
Chu wants to stand but Wood has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Chu slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. More stalling from Chu.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Chu shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Chu was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Chu in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chu scores with a couple of short elbows. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Chu is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! Pika Chu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Chu is defended easily by Wood. Wood throws a big counter combination but Chu scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Wood gets caught flat footed, as Chu shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Wood keeping full guard, as Chu tries to pass. Chu is stalling in the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wood looking for a sweep. Not yet Wood, not yet. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wood is looking to stand up but Chu isn't so interested in that idea. Chu seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Pika Chu has got the better of the ground game so far.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Chu shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wood's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chu is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Chu with more of the same as he continues to hold on. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Chu. Chu advances position into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chu remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Wood wants to control but Chu postures up. Chu works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Wood is letting Chu control him for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Yet more stalling tactics from Chu.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Chu shoots in but Wood avoids the takedown attempt easily. Wood gets caught napping as Chu dives in and scores a takedown. Wood manages to retain guard. Chu must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Wood is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Chu is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Gerald Wood has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that's the end of the fight! Pika Chu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Chu winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
