Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zach Belica (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bad Motherfucker. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Walker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zach Belica! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walker with a poor takedown letting Belica counter with a right hand. Belica lands with a nice combination. Walker backs away looking to recover. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Walker. Belica throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Walker counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Belica! Belica wants to get back to his feet. Belica throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Zach Belica seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Walker throws a left and a right that both miss
and Belica moves into the clinch. Walker looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Walker. That's going to take a lot out of him. Walker is breathing heavily. Walker decides to pull guard. Belica wanted to stand there but Walker had control of the position. Belica told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belica postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Belica sitting in guard here, content to control. Belica loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Walker definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Belica is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Walker is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Walker has escaped and now he's on top! Walker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Walker with a nice head shot there. Belica is trying to control the position but Walker postures up. Walker pushes down on Belica's leg and manages to get into half guard. Belica is kicking away at Walker from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Walker grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a heel hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Belica trying to push Walker off... Belica taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Matt Walker! Matt Walker made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'I have nobody to thank but myself! my hard work, my dedication, m perceverance. that is how i got here!'.
