The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abrams connects with a crisp jab.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rodriguez.
Rodriguez fails with the takedown
and Abrams connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Abrams cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Rodriguez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rodriguez takes a body punch but keeps moving.
A jab from Abrams does it's job there.
It looks like Anderson Rodriguez has been cut.
Abrams sends Rodriguez crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Abrams is motioning to the referee to let Rodriguez up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Abrams cracks Rodriguez with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Rodriguez tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Abrams pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Rodriguez is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jacob Abrams!
