Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chisulo Kalagho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brad Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chisulo Kalagho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Brad Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalagho jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Shaw throws a body shot but no joy.
Shaw looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kalagho looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Shaw wants to counter the offense by Kalagho and move into the clinch position.
Shaw throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kalagho lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Shaw tries to clinch but Kalagho is having none of it.
Kalagho is looking to counter punch.
Nice body kick from Kalagho.
Kalagho connects with a looping right hand.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shaw slaps away a takedown attempt from Kalagho, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Kalagho throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kalagho walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Shaw checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

and Kalagho counters with a nice double leg into side control. Shaw won't be happy with that.

Kalagho is trying to get an arm triangle but Shaw is defending well.

Kalagho is trying to move to mount but Shaw reverses beautifully and ends up in Kalagho's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kalagho is trying to keep Shaw in close.

Kalagho has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shaw can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
My spies in Lock and Roll Grappling Gym inform me that Shaw has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Kalagho has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Shaw is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kalagho.

Kalagho lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Kalagho bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kalagho buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kalagho throws a body shot but no joy.
Shaw will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kalagho shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kalagho was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Kalagho is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shaw is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Kalagho working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Shaw tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kalagho wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Kalagho is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Shaw can do to turn this around?

We've been hearing that Kalagho has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Kalagho tries to move to full mount but Shaw actually manages to regain half guard.

Shaw is trying to control but can't.
Kalagho is stalling here. Shaw is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Kalagho seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Shaw has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Shaw wants to take a breather but Kalagho manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Shaw.

Shaw got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kalagho has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shaw has managed to get both his arms back between Kalagho's legs - danger averted.
Shaw passes Kalagho's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Chisulo Kalagho overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kalagho wants to improve his position but Shaw is controlling well.

Shaw is thwarting Kalagho's attempts to control the position.
Kalagho tries to roll over but Shaw keeps him under control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Shaw has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Kalagho defend it? Shaw steps over the head and cranks it - Kalagho is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Shaw!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Brad Shaw!
A less than humble Brad Shaw misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
