Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Oppelaar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Martel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
26 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dennis Oppelaar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
56 - 22 - 2, fighting out of New York, Charles Martel! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Anthony Taglia and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oppelaar scores with a nice right hand.
Martel delivers a nice body kick. Martel blocks a head kick by Oppelaar.
Martel gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
It looks like Charles Martel has been cut. Oppelaar falls off balance throwing a combination
and Martel makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Martel avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Oppelaar throws out a loose jab but Martel uses good head movement to avoid it. Martel scores with the left hand. Oppelaar knows he should have avoided that one. Oppelaar throws a right and a left that both miss. Oppelaar fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A head kick from Martel lands but Oppelaar takes it in his stride. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A big right from Oppelaar misses. Oppelaar takes a jab right on the kisser.
Oppelaar moves out of range of the body kick. Martel connects with a good right hand that stumbles Oppelaar. Oppelaar circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Oppelaar uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Martel.
Martel slips a jab and a cross from Oppelaar.
Martel was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Martel lands with a kick to the ribs.
Martel changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Oppelaar. Those never looked like landing. Martel lands a front kick. Martel lets loose with a powerful body kick. Oppelaar will feel that in the morning. Oppelaar walks forward, straight into a front kick from Martel. Oppelaar is breathing heavily. Oppelaar gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Martel. Oppelaar cracks Martel with a good jab. Martel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Oppelaar looks to throw a body kick and Martel counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Martel dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A looping hook to the body misses from Oppelaar. Martel does a little dance to reset his feet. Martel scores with a spinning back kick! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Martel lands with a hook. Oppelaar tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Oppelaar will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Martel lands a nice leg kick that just misses Oppelaar's sensitive parts. Oppelaar avoids the head kick by Martel.
Oppelaar doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Oppelaar gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Martel scores with the left hand. Oppelaar knows he should have avoided that one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oppelaar fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Oppelaar throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Oppelaar walks into a left hand.
Oppelaar is rocked! Dennis Oppelaar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Oppelaar pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Oppelaar gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Oh Oppelaar is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Oppelaar has his takedown stuffed and Martel counters with a left to the body. Martel lands with a shot to the body. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Martel - that will leave a mark!
BOOM! Martel lands a beautiful left hook that drops Oppelaar. Oppelaar tries to recover but Martel is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Oppelaar lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
