Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Deverux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wiley McCoist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Steve Deverux! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wiley McCoist! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCoist tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Deverux manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. McCoist throws out a powerful jab. McCoist fails with an attempt to clinch.
Deverux lands a glancing blow to the side of McCoist's head. Deverux tests McCoist's chin there with a solid looking shot. Deverux lands a really nice looking cross but McCoist seems unphased.
It looks like Wiley McCoist has been cut. McCoist has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Deverux getting the better of the striking in that exchange. A big left from Deverux misses. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Deverux lands a big right hand that sends McCoist crashing to the mat! Deverux stays standing though and waves McCoist back to his feet!
McCoist is rocked! Deverux tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McCoist was well out of range. Poor timing from Deverux. Deverux throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McCoist has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Deverux finds it's way round the side to connect with McCoist's head. McCoist is still on wobbly legs! Can Deverux finish him? McCoist closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. McCoist seems to have recovered his senses. Deverux is trying to force a seperation but McCoist has the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCoist pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Deverux takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Deverux rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and McCoist counters with a takedown into side control. Deverux pushes McCoist away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, McCoist gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Deverux is looking to get back to his feet here but McCoist is keeping cool and he's managed to take Deverux's back. Deverux covering up well under a series of strikes from McCoist. McCoist somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Deverux manages to escape to his feet. Deverux looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McCoist wants to clinch up but Deverux keeps it at a distance. Deverux is looking to counter punch. Steve Deverux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McCoist throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Deverux's waist but Deverux gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McCoist off to one side.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCoist tries to clinch but Deverux moves out of range. McCoist tries to clinch but Deverux moves out of range. Deverux tries to counter by clinching up but McCoist breaks away and moves out of range. McCoist fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A telegraphed right hand from Deverux misses the target. McCoist gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Deverux, as that shot connected.
McCoist tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Deverux paws at him with a jab and circles away. Deverux with a hook. McCoist takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. A punch lands to the side of McCoist 's head but he takes it in his stride. A big left from Deverux misses. McCoist steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Deverux. McCoist walks into a left hand. McCoist tries to clinch but Deverux is having none of it. Deverux defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McCoist. Steve Deverux has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wiley McCoist.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Deverux rushes McCoist with punches - McCoist moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, McCoist goes down! Deverux follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steve Deverux!
